J.S. Bach's gift to the world was actually a gift to the Margrave of Brandenburg. Individually, and as a body of work, these concerti represent the lighter side of an inventive genius at the height of his creative powers. Few works are as loved, or performed as often.
ATL Symphony Musicians Foundation and Anacrusis Productions Ltd. have committed our two organizations to bringing outstanding symphonic music to the people of Atlanta, and have chosen the performance of Bach's ebullient, virtuosic chamber works -- in their entirety -- as their first musical project together. The Brandenburg Affair. On August 29, at the Westside Cultural Arts Center, the complete Bach Brandenburg Concerti will be performed in a single evening’s concert, conducted by Maestro Michael Palmer, and featuring ATL Symphony Musicians. The Brandenburg Affair -- a chamber concert and reception event -- will bring musicians, artists and music-lovers together in an intimate social setting. Be a part of something historic! ATL Symphony Musicians and Anacrusis Productions invite you to join our partnership today, to support this unique concert event, and help introduce an annual end-of-summer tradition of classical music in the city of Atlanta. What better way to mark the summer's end and look ahead to a stellar artistic season? Your support will make a difference. Proceeds from the concert will also help fund the ATL Symphony Musician Foundation’s continued educational outreach: performing concerts and master classes in Atlanta schools, an undertaking that has become even more critical this year, as so many Atlanta schools are losing band and orchestra teaching resources. Our mission of meeting audiences in unexpected places continues! On behalf of ATL Symphony Musicians Foundation and Anacrusis Productions, we look forward to seeing you at The Brandenburg Affair on August 29. We thank you for your consideration to join with us in making this exciting and important project a reality. Sincerely, |
J.S. Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F major, (BWV 1046) Orchestra Mozart Claudio Abbado |
